How to use Stopwatch
- Select Start to begin measuring elapsed time.
- Record lap adds the time since the previous lap and the accumulated total.
- Pause and Start exclude the paused interval. Download laps exports the recorded results, while Reset clears the stopwatch and all laps.
Example
A first lap at 00:00:12.50 and a second lap at 00:00:25.00 produce two 12.50-second splits. A ten-second pause does not add ten seconds to the running total.
Limits and details
- The display shows hundredths of a second, but this is a browser utility, not a certified sports or laboratory timing device. Background rendering may be delayed.
- Up to 1,000 laps are available per session. Closing or reloading the page clears the time and laps; download them before leaving.
Common questions
What is the difference between split and total time?
Split time measures the interval since the previous lap. Total time measures the accumulated running time since you started or reset the stopwatch.
Can I open the results in a spreadsheet?
Yes. Download laps produces a CSV file with lap number, split time, and total time. All times are exported as hours:minutes:seconds.hundredths.
