How to use Invisible Character Detector
- Paste the text you want to inspect.
- Choose Find invisible characters.
- Review each character’s Unicode code point, name, and position.
- Edit the original text yourself if you decide a character should be removed.
Example
A zero-width space (U+200B) is reported at its one-based code point position, while ordinary accented letters are left alone.
Limits and details
- Unicode contains many meaningful format characters; findings are informational and are never removed automatically.
- Position counts Unicode code points, not grapheme clusters or UTF-16 code units.
Common questions
Does it remove detected characters?
No. It only reports code points so meaningful text is never silently changed.
Will it flag non-English letters?
No. Ordinary international letters and combining marks are not treated as invisible controls.
