How to use Image Format Converter
- Choose a JPEG, PNG, or WebP file up to 20 MB.
- Select an output format. For JPEG or WebP, choose an encoder quality.
- If exporting JPEG, choose the solid color that replaces transparent pixels.
- Create the image, check the preview, and download the result. Changing settings clears the previous result.
Example
Convert a transparent 1200 × 800 PNG logo to JPEG with a white background and balanced quality. The downloaded JPG keeps the dimensions and fills transparent areas with white.
Limits and details
- Canvas decoding and reencoding can change colors and remove embedded profiles and metadata. PNG is lossless for the decoded pixels, but conversion cannot restore lost detail.
- Only a single still frame is exported. Animated images, HEIC, GIF, and SVG are not supported here. WebP export depends on your browser.
- Files over 20 MB, images over 8192 pixels on either side, and images over 16 million pixels are rejected. Decoding still consumes device memory.
Common questions
Will changing formats make my image smaller?
Sometimes. JPEG and WebP often reduce photo size, but the result depends on the image and quality. The tool shows the actual output size.
Does JPEG support transparency?
No. The selected background color replaces transparent pixels when exporting JPEG. PNG and WebP support transparency.
