How to use CSV Viewer and Editor

  1. Paste CSV and choose whether the first row is a header.
  2. Select View CSV to open an editable table.
  3. Edit cells directly or select a heading to sort by that column.
  4. Download CSV and choose spreadsheet-safe export when opening untrusted values in spreadsheet software.

Example

Name,Note followed by Ava,"hello, world" displays the comma as part of one editable cell.

Limits and details

  • The viewer accepts up to 500,000 characters, 5,000 rows, and 100 columns.
  • Spreadsheet-safe export prefixes cells that could be interpreted as formulas; this changes those cell values on re-import.

Common questions

Does CSV quoting survive editing?

The download quotes cells when needed and doubles embedded quotes, preserving commas and line breaks.

Will safe mode change negative numbers?

No. A minus sign is escaped only when it begins a formula-like expression; ordinary negative numeric values remain numeric.
